Why Gas Safety Checks?

If you are a landlord, it is your responsibility to keep up-to-date records of your gas safety check for two years and supply new tenants with a copy of the certificate before they move in and within 28 days of completing a new check. As a landlord, you are only responsible for gas safety checks on appliances, pipework and flues that you have ownership of and not gas appliances that the tenant owns. It is however worth noting that you are responsible for any pipework and flues that the appliances are connected to and must have them checked.

How Long Does a Gas Safety Check Take?

When it comes to gas safety, we at R&S Heating Services understand the need for speed and efficiency, which is why we can carry out your gas safety checks within 30-60 minutes for a normal, domestic property. Larger property types will of course have an impact on the amount of time it takes for us to inspect your property in its entirety, but work can usually be completed in a few hours for larger-scale buildings. Additionally, if repairs are required, this will also increase the amount of time we spend on your property – but to make sure that you remain within the law and that your tenants are protected, it’s worth it.
